Connect a wireless Mouse

You want to keep you desk clean and tidy or you want to use the latest technology available, you have got yourself a wireless mouse. Once you have got a wireless mouse you have also got yourself a good companion during travelling ! Connecting a wireless mouse to your PC or laptop can be done very easily. The steps slightly varies based on whether you have a RF mouse or a Bluetooth mouse. Below are the step by step instructions for connecting both type of wireless mouse.
RF Mouse (mouse that has a receiver)

Step 1 :  Insert Batteries

Since the mouse is wireless mouse it works on batteries. Turn the mouse over and remove the battery cover and insert the batteries.
Make sure you are using the correct type of batteries that are required for your mouse.

Step 2 : Plug In the receiver

Connect the receiver of the mouse in the vacant USB port. Check if there is a button to your receiver. if yes then press the button.

Step 3 : Check for any prompts

Once the receiver is plug in and working most of the job is done. Generally the mouse is a plug and play device and will not need any additional drivers to be installed. However if there are any required it will be downloaded or there will be a prompt for you to download the driver.

Step 4 : Start Using

Start moving the mouse. If the cursor responds and starts moving your wireless mouse is connected.
Bluetooth Mouse

Step 1 :  Insert Batteries

Turn the mouse over and remove the battery cover and insert the batteries.
Make sure you are using the correct type of batteries that are required for your mouse.

Step 2 : Turn your mouse ON

After inserting the batteries there may be a small button to turn on the mouse. make sure you press this button to turn on your mouse

Step 3 – Pair the mouse with your computer

  • Make sure you have bluetooth turned ON in your computer.
  • In windows type ‘add a device’ or ‘Add bluetooth device’ in the windows search box depending on the windows version you have installed.
  • if you are using MAC OS then you might need to click on ‘System preferences’ and then ‘Bluetooth’.
  • The computer will start searching the device. A list will be displayed. Mouse will be displayed in the list.
  • Click on the mouse and mouse will be paired with your computer.

Step 4 : Start Using

Once your mouse is paired with the device start moving the mouse. if the cursor responds your mouse is connected.
